In the year 2008 B.C. (Before Cruise)
Before we set off on our cruise last month, generous neighbors hosted a “Bon Voyage” gathering. I suspect they mainly wanted a reason to celebrate, but I was happy to bring a batch of cupcakes to the party.
What kind of cupcakes did I make? Beach-themed cupcakes, naturally. I decorated each one to reflect sea and shore motifs. I later realized I missed a small detail—sprinkling some whole grain Cream of Wheat on the serving plates would have made a convincing sand effect. That idea came to me only the next morning.
Despite the little sand oversight, I was pleased with how the cupcakes looked, and the guests enjoyed them too. By the end of the evening, every cruise cupcake had disappeared.
