Pan-Sear the Shrimp
Peel and devein the shrimp, then season lightly with salt and pepper. Warm 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the shrimp. Sear them on both sides until pink and cooked through, about 3–5 minutes total. Remove the shrimp and keep them covered and warm while you prepare the sauce.
Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce
In the same or a clean large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and cook for about a minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Add 2 tablespoons butter, 2 cups chicken broth, and 1 cup milk. Whisk until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add Uncooked Fettuccine to the Sauce
Place 8 ounces uncooked fettuccine into the simmering sauce, pushing the noodles down so they are mostly submerged. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and cooked through—about 15–18 minutes for store-bought pasta. When cooked, stir in 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan and combine thoroughly. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach the desired consistency.
Combine Shrimp and Pasta
Add the reserved cooked shrimp to the skillet and stir gently to combine. Heat just until the shrimp are warmed through, about 1–2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Serve
Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley or dried parsley flakes over the dish for color and freshness. Serve immediately while hot.
The result is a creamy, garlicky sauce with the salty, nutty flavor of Parmesan, balanced by tender shrimp. It’s an easy, satisfying weeknight dinner or a simple meal to serve guests.

To make pasta sauce, heat olive oil on medium-high in a large skillet. Add minced garlic to hot oil; cook for about a minute, stirring often to prevent burning. Add butter, chicken broth and milk; whisk together while butter melts. Season sauce with salt and pepper, to taste.
-
Stir in the UNCOOKED noodles and simmer (on medium-low heat) until the pasta has completely cooked through (this will take about 15-18 minutes for commercially prepared pasta). Stir mixture occasionally while it cooks!
-
Once pasta is cooked through, add fresh grated Parmesan cheese. Stir well, to combine. If you find the sauce has thickened too much, simply add a touch more milk until it’s the thickness you desire. Add the cooked shrimp to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook only until shrimp are heated through. Garnish hot pasta with a sprinkle of fresh or dried parsley before serving, and serve hot!
