I love summer. The heat is worth it for long days by the pool, beach trips, evening walks and relaxed mornings. Summer is about spontaneity — impromptu day trips, backyard fun, and simple ways to make happy memories.

For me, summer is about easy treats and lighthearted fun. Growing up, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish were a pantry staple. My mom would stock up at the outlet store — bread, cookies and plenty of Goldfish in those foil snack bags that were perfect for grabbing on the go.

My sister and I each had our own bag for car trips; I always chose the Cheddar flavor. Those simple snacks bring back a lot of warm memories.

Recently I was excited to try Pepperidge Farm’s Goldfish Puffs. We went shopping at Target and picked up the two available flavors: Mega Cheese and Buffalo Wing. If you enjoy Buffalo wings, you’ll like the Buffalo Wing Puffs; if you prefer a classic snack, the Mega Cheese is a safe bet.

To make an ordinary afternoon feel festive, we mixed up a bright blue fish bowl punch and set out the Goldfish Puffs. The kids loved it — glasses of cool punch, bowls of puffs, and a chorus of “The snack that smiles back… Goldfish!” That jingle sticks in your head, so you’re welcome.

I appreciate the resealable bags — no need for clips or makeshift container solutions. One funny moment: I went to grab a bag and discovered my teenage son sneaking Goldfish Puffs while gaming on the Xbox. It’s a snack that appeals to everyone, from kids to teens.
