Nutella Fudge Recipe

If you love the combination of chocolate and hazelnut, this two-ingredient Nutella fudge is for you. It’s quick to make and requires no condensed milk or butter.

Many traditional fudge recipes use sweetened condensed milk or butter. This version relies only on Nutella (or your preferred chocolate-hazelnut spread) and chocolate chips for a smooth, fudgy texture. You can use either milk or dark chocolate chips depending on how sweet or intense you want the chocolate flavor to be.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate chips – Use a good-quality bag of chocolate chips (dark or milk). Milk chocolate gives a sweeter finish; dark chocolate makes it richer.
  • Nutella or chocolate-hazelnut spread – Any brand will work, though texture and sweetness can vary by brand.
  • Optional: chopped nuts – Add walnuts, pecans, or hazelnuts for crunch. Fold some into the mixture and sprinkle some on top if desired.

Tips for success

  • The finished fudge is slightly softer than a typical chocolate bar; chilling helps it set.
  • Change the pan size to adjust the thickness of the pieces — a smaller pan yields thicker squares.
  • The recipe scales easily. Double or triple it but match the pan size so the depth stays consistent.
  • If halving the recipe, use a loaf pan (8×4 or 8×5) for thicker pieces.
  • Line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal and cleaner slicing.

Does fudge need to be refrigerated?

Not all fudge requires refrigeration, but chilling this Nutella fudge helps it hold its shape and stay fresh. For best results, store it in the refrigerator.

How to cut Nutella fudge

This fudge is on the softer side, similar to refrigerator fudge. Chill it until firm before cutting into squares. If you lined the pan with parchment, lift the block out using the parchment and place it on a cutting board.

If the fudge is still too soft to slice, place the pan in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm it up — set a timer so it doesn’t freeze solid. Another method is to dip a sharp knife in hot water, dry it, and use the warmed blade for cleaner cuts.
